Located just a few minutes walk to the village and beach, and with the estuary and boardwalk at the end of the street, the location of 5 Rathgael Ave is exceptional. The home itself is nicely renovated and although it flows well to the front entertaining area with a good sized pool, the layout feels in reverse, particularly with the orientation of the home on the block. It was probably difficult to fix as the original 70s brick home was built too deep on the block and to increase the size of the home, the owners at the time have extended into the garage with a second living area and study. With the kitchen at the rear of the home, and the only flow to the rear decking via the laundry, the indoor-outdoor flow to the northern decking is a bit tricky. The entertaining area is in the front yard, and although it is private behind hedges, it's still not as private as some would like. With the market being picky at the moment, buyers are being coy with price, and it might take some time to find the right buyer.
For empty nesters or holiday homemakers, this would be a nice low-maintenance beach house where you can leave the car in the carport and do everything by foot.
